The drain line for my LG refrigerator was plugged leaving a sheet of ice in the bottom of my drawer freezer. John came out the next day, diagnosed the problem and had it fixed within an hour. He suggested I replace the part and unfortunately required a special order. John returned without charge to disassemble the refrigerator again to replace the part. Reasonably priced and fast service.

Had Papa Joes out twice, once to diagnose fried mother board on dryer, then to hook up new dryer, clean out vent, and repair my refrigerator, great service and reasonable price!!!

Reliable and honest work!

Called Papa Joes first thing Saturday morning hoping to get someone out to fix my washing machine early the following week. Pleasantly surprised to have him out the SAME DAY and had my washing machine up and going quickly. Walked us through the steps of what he was doing and why. No mess. Very helpful. Very knowledgeable and more important HONEST. Very pleasant gentleman. I placed his business magnet on my refrigerator as he will be our go to appliance repair man!

Papa Joe’s Appliance Repair did a great job. My oven was not heating, he was able to come that day and troubleshoot the problem. My oven was an older model, so he had to order the part. He came out and fixed it two days later. He was professional and knowledgeable. His office manager was very professional and pleasant when making the appointments. Thank-you for a job well done. I really appreciate feeling comfortable with the people who come in my house.

On December 11th. My freezer stopped freezing, and ice was melting. I contacted Sears, but their repair appointments were unavailable until the New Year (so . . . Christmas? no fridge . . . ? Kids home for the holidays? That’s not gonna work). I called the next appliance repair I found: They could come on the 20th — 9 days away. The problem here is that I had family coming home, and the repair might not be do-able that day if they waited 9 days to come and THEN had to order a part. So I called the third name that came up: Papa Joe’s. She said he couldn’t come same-day, but could come the NEXT DAY. She also advised me that in the meantime I should NOT open my fridge, because the freezer cold air is what goes to the fridge, and with the freezer beginning to fail, the fridge needed to stay shut to keep its cold air. GREAT ADVICE! It turns out that by the next day, the fridge was, in fact, dead as well. But nobody else gave me any advice at all. So the repairman comes, and he was late, but only because they obviously overbooked themselves to help me out. He came after 5 and never charged me an “after hours” call. I commented on how happy I was that he came, and he said that he and his wife really try to prioritize fridges and freezers that stop working, because it’s so important not to lose all that food 🙂 . He fixed it. It works great. It’s an old fridge, and it works great, now. I put thermometers in the fridge and freezer and they’re perfect. That saved us, what — $1500 on a new fridge? I’m very happy. I appreciated the advice for how to limp along while waiting, the way they made time to squeeze me in even though that meant he had to work late, and the advice he gave about good brands to buy (mine was, in fact, a great brand — just old). He suggested I could call him before buying a new appliance, like a dishwasher, washing machine, or fridge, and he’d be happy to advise about the most reliable brands to get. This is great. The thing works, and it’s well before company comes and the New Year — we wouldn’t have been able to wait — we would have bought a new fridge before waiting 3 weeks — he saved us a lot of money. Papa Joe’s is my new go-to appliance repair company.

I can’t speak for the other reviewers on here, but our experience with John was entirely positive. We have a Wolf stove, for which it’s difficult to find people willing to work on. The first time we called him, he arranged to come within two days, and he solved the problem with our oven, but admitted that he couldn’t guarantee it. He promised to follow-up if we had more problems. A few weeks later, the problem reemerged, we called, and he came out again. This time, he identified a part that should be replaced, but it had to be ordered. (He didn’t charge for this visit.) He ordered the part, returned, and fixed the stove within 20 minutes. He was responsive, communicative, and dependable. Most of all, we have a working oven at very reasonable cost. We have no hesitation in recommending John.

John, co-owner of Papa Joe’s, might have saved our lives (in addition to fixing our wall oven).
While he was at our house replacing the heating element in our oven, he also inspected the exhaust hood above our stove as well as our clothes dryer vent, and gave us some very good free advice about those. He also pointed out our lack of fire extinguishers in the kitchen, which we welcomed. John knows a lot and shares the knowledge generously, which to me is as important as fixing stuff right. I highly recommend him.

Great efficient service! The communication from the office was awesome. Quick turnaround with call backs, appt scheduling and parts ordering. He came on a Friday night to repair our double oven…he was very knowledgeable and quick. Very friendly. We will definitely use them for all of our appliance repairs in the future!
